A Cappella

I am an a cappella professional with over a decade of experience in the pro scene and experience across a myriad of genres, from Motown to madrigals.  I'm an alumna of the University of Michigan's prestigious all-gender group Amazin' Blue - for this group I served as Performance Director and choreographed cinematic ICCA Finals set "Chasing Love", racking up Outstanding Choreography awards along the way.  I currently sing with three ensembles. In New York, I sing with BLACKOUT NYC and am Creative Director/co-founder of women's vocal collective VICE.  I am also part of quintet Chasing Saturn, which is comprised of seasoned musicians from around the country.  With these groups I've headlined at venues large and small across the city, appeared on Good Morning America, perform in residency at hotels, and more.

A Cappella Education & Clinics

I serve as an educator and visual clinician for a cappella groups around the nation, leading workshops for both scholastic groups and non-scholastic groups of all ages looking to tune up their storytelling and movement presentation.  I work to help performers find their unique identities, build cohesive narratives in their repertoire and competition sets, and understand the "why" of singing and moving in addition to the "how"!  I offer both a masterclass-style clinic for work on specific rep as well as an instructional course to help students learn how to apply storytelling techniques to their music on their own.   I've brought my curricula to many a cappella festivals, including Boston Sings [BOSS] Steinert A Cappella Festival, and Highlands A Cappella Festival, and serve as an instructor at Camp A Cappella.  Past clients include North Reading High School NOTEorious (ICHSA Northeast Quarterfinal Champions 2024), Wakefield High School Voices of Steel, Pace Frequency (ICCA Northeast Quarterfinal 2nd Place), Clarkston MI's Detroit Voice (ICHSA Great Lakes Semifinalists), and Ithaca College's Ithacappella (ICCA Central Semifinal 2nd Place).  I have also served as an ICCA/ICHSA judge. If you're interested in learning more about working with me in this capacity, please use the contact form on this website to inquire about rates and availability.

TESTIMONIALS

"Mason was incredible with the students, within the first five minutes of her workshop, I knew I made a great choice in hiring her. Her work with storytelling and movement elevated the students' set immediately. She was kind and personable, yet demanding of the students' attention and commitment. She worked with students from middle school to high school with a vast variety of skill levels and found something to bring out of each and every individual. My only regret was that we didn't book her for longer! We hope to have Mason back to work with our students again soon!"
