A Cappella Vocalist
Mason Van Gieson is a New York-based actor and vocalist. Raised on an inland lake in Southeast Michigan, Mason has always felt a deep interest in the imaginary within the natural world. She graduated in 2018 from the University of Michigan with a dual degree; a BFA in Theatre Performance and a BA in Anthropology. Mason is also a bonafide a cappella nerd; at U of M, she served as Performance Director of prestigious mixed a cappella group Amazin' Blue, and she currently sings with several ensembles in New York, including BLACKOUT, Bridges, and new professional 5-woman vocal band VICE!
In addition to performing, Mason also serves on the other side of the table, most recently working in development for veteran theatre and film producer John N. Hart. Recent projects include THE SOUND INSIDE at Studio 54.
When not performing, Mason can usually be found tucked into the corner of a coffee shop with a long history book, or doting on her two feline babies, Ginger and Izzy. She is an adult who still thinks dinosaurs are really cool, loves 70's rock, and will drink boba tea till she drops.

In addition to performing, Mason serves as a visual clinician and choreographer for a cappella groups around the nation. She works to help performers find their unique identities, build cohesive narratives in their repertoire and competition sets, and understand the "why" of singing and moving in addition to the "how"! She has served as an instructor at Boston Sings [BOSS] and Highlands A Cappella Festival. Recent clinics include Pace Frequency (ICCA Northeast Quarterfinal 2nd Place), Jefferson NJ's Elevate, Clarkston MI's Detroit Voice (ICHSA Great Lakes Semifinalists), and Ithaca College's Ithacappella (ICCA Central Semifinal 2nd Place).
